Human-Wildlife Conflict

Research needs:

  1. What are feasible approaches to prevent conflict?

  2. To what extent does education reduce the incidence of conflict?

Cocoa farmers are likely to ask questions about human-wildlife conflict when asked to increase the biodiversity of their farms.

It can be argued that human-wildlife conflict occurs are a result of farmers expanding their farms into the territory of animals. So when expansion is reduced and combined with education and training, it could lead to less conflict. However, feasible and effective solutions to human-wildlife conflict need to be identified and tested. These can be based on the local knowledge on how to keep animals of the farm.
